La Granja La Esperanza has been a family plantation for three generations, now owned by Don Miguel. Located in the Cauca Valley, in the southwest of Colombia, at an altitude of between 1600 and 2000m, Granja is a producer and exporter of green coffees.

Historically, Granja produced the classic varieties Caturra, Bourbon and Typica. For many years, the plantation remained dependent on the New York Stock Exchange. Then, 10 years ago, she started production in Organic Agriculture by starting to sell her coffee under label. These coffees were quickly recognized for the quality of their cup. Miguel realized that roasters were looking for very high quality coffee and were willing to pay for it. From organic coffee, they decided to invest even more in quality by entering the demanding world of specialty coffees. In 2007, the Herrera family decided to diversify by planting 2 new varieties unknown in Colombia: Geisha (brought back from Panama) and Mokka.

After years of tests, errors, heavy investments, they finally succeeded in obtaining complex and surprising coffees. In 2012, this coffee finished in second place in the Colombian Cup of Excellence with a score of 88.25.

A coffee that we remember for a long time! An explosive and very floral nose. On the palate, it is a concentrate of juicy fruit, with notes of cherries and ripe grapes, papaya and peach. The finish is long and very intense with notes of passion fruit for their sweetness.

Ranked 2nd in the Colombian Cup of Excellence (2012).
