Malawi coffee called Sable Farms is produced by two separate farms / plantations that gather in southern and eastern Malawi. The place is called Chipale south of Ngapani. These coffee cooperatives have more than 570 hectares of production land, making the Sand Farm the largest producing plantation in the country.
Sable Farms coffee was a real example for the rest of the country, and even internationally. We are in an area with very little infrastructure. Initially, this plantation had almost no water to moisten the plantation. The local cooperative decided to build a school with coffee sales already made for the local community to bring the producers together. Then the second project was to establish a definite water pipeline for the entire village and plantations. Currently, thanks to innovation and investment in sustainable and local development, sand farms employ 1,800 people, including 70 permanent people all year round.
